My favorite dish: Sausage sandwich
Last week, some foodie friends and I were invited to try the all new Ah Roma Italian restaurant! Ah Roma is located on Jean-Talon Ouest, just off the 15 (close to the 40). They offer classic Italian dishes like pastas, sandwiches, meatballs and more. Here are the dishes we got to sample:
- Antipasto platter: Prosciutto, salami, soppressata, capicollo, home made sausage, sun dried tomatoes, olives, eggplant, bocconcini with balsamic, tomatoes, basil and grilled peppers
- House salad
- Veal sandwiches & sausage sandwiches
- Meatballs
- Gnocchi à la Gigi
- Fettuccine carbonara
- Tiramisu

Overall, the dishes were good, but some stood out more than the others. I loved the sausage sandwich, as it was perfect. The sausage was perfectly seasoned, the bun was soft, and the toppings flavourful. I also really liked the gnocchi, as they were light and feathery, covered in a sauce that I love. My husband for his part really loved the meatballs; said they were exactly the way he likes them. With that said, some of the other dishes could, in my opinion, use some fine tuning. The fettuccine carbonara was to me, more of a creamy fettuccine Alfredo than a carbonara. And I would have preferred for the tiramisu to taste more like coffee and to be a bit less sweet.
If you’re in the area and looking for a casual Italian restaurant, Ah Roma is a nice choice and they are fully licensed as well. Thank you for the invitation and for having us!
