My favorite dish: Truffle scrambled eggs
Back in March, some foodie friends and I chose Bar George for our Sunday brunch get-together! I had been before for a private corporate dinner and it was excellent. The food was simple but flavourful and delicious, the service outstanding and the place itself is just historical and beautiful. I also had a few friends that had been for brunch and gave it great reviews, so it was high time we tried it out for ourselves.

I got the truffle scrambled eggs and they were beyond delicious. The eggs were super fluffy and rich, topped with a generous portion of shaved black truffles. The eggs sat atop a mount of duck fat fried breakfast potatoes, which were also excellent. Really, a perfectly decadent brunch dish.
The rest of my friends got two of the other dishes on the menu: omelette (2x) and French toast (3x). They too very much enjoyed their meals.
Overall we really had a delicious brunch at Bar George, with great service and in such a beautifully decorated dining room. The bar itself is also stunning and a must see during the day. Bar George also takes brunch reservations and can accommodate large groups, which is uncommon in Montreal.
So, here is my review of Bar George:
Food: 5/5 (excellent)
Price: $$$
Would I go back?: Yes I can’t wait to as Bar George is now one of my favorite Montreal brunch places!
