Restaurant type: donuts, desserts, café, Moroccan-Jewish, Kosher, Parve, allergen-free

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of trying Sfingy’s donuts! Sfingy’s is a parve, nut, peanut and lactose free donut shop, that opened up this summer. They are located in the Cavendish Mall, in Côte-Saint-Luc. The shop’s name actually comes from the word “sfinge”, “which is a fritter-like Moroccan doughnut made from a sticky, unsweetened leavened dough.” Sfingy’s offers two types of donuts – small balls (like tim bits) and small donuts – as well as other baked goods, coffees and smoothies.
In my box of a dozen donuts, I had one of each flavour! Chocolate lentils, breakfast, s’mores, pina colada, cookies and cream, maple, bowl of cereal, simpson, chips and pretzels, Boston cream, popcorn and nibs and bowl of fruits. As much as I would have loved to try them all, the Boston cream donut was my favorite. Overall, I liked that the donut itself wasn’t sweetened, therefore it wasn’t an overly sweet dessert when you factor in all the toppings. The cream filling was delicious and covered in chocolate; making it the perfect treat. While at Sfingy’s, we also got to try a special Hanukkah treat; a jelly filled donut. The donut itself was super soft, almost fluffy and stuffed full of yummy strawberry jam.
If you’re looking for custom made donuts, Sfingy’s has you covered with their delicious donuts! If you have any nut or lactose allergies, they are also a great pick for you (:
