A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of trying out Les Papi Churros as their guest. Les Papi Churros is an all-new churros and ice cream dessert spot, located in the Village. The menu is quite simple; churro loop or churro cone. The churro loop is a nice big churro and you can choose from about a dozen different ones on their menu, which have different toppings and flavours. You can also choose to add it to a cup with some Les Givrés ice cream, offered in about half a dozen flavours or so. The churro cone is a huge cone made of a churro and filled with ice cream. Here too, you have about half a dozen different cones to choose from, with different fillings and ingredients.

When I went, they were not yet offering the churro cone, so we got churro loop cups. I opted for the Ma dulce churro loop – dulce de leche dip, graham cookies and marshmallows – as well as the strawberry-rhubarb ice cream – strawberry-rhubarb sorbet (from Les Givrés), graham cookies, white chocolate shavings and strawberry coulis. Both were excellent and mixed very well together. The churro itself was nice and thick and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside; its one of the better churros I’ve had in Montreal.

My friend Linda opted for the Schtroumpf churro loop – schtroumpf dip and white chocolate shavings – with the Mumbai ice cream – masala chaï ice cream (from Les Givrés), nut mix, chocolate coulis. I loved the color of the schtroumpf dip on the churro. The Mumbai ice cream itself was an interesting mix of flavours, but not exactly my cup of tea in terms of ice creams.
Overall, we had a very nice experience at Les Papi Churros and very much enjoyed our churro loop cups. I look forward to trying their churro cone!!!
