My favorite dishes: Bene Joe “Full” Bacon
Last month, I had the pleasure of trying L’Oeufrier DDO’s brunch, in company of @bennettzo and Alex. As its name implies, this branch of L’Oeufrier is in DDO, in the West Island. If you think brunch places in the Plateau get packed full, well, so do the ones in the suburbs! We got here just before 10h00 and by 10h30, the place was packed full and there was even a line up!
L’Oeufrier DDO offers a wide variety of brunch and lunch dishes, ranging from your classic eggs benny, omelettes and waffles, to grilled cheeses, poutines and mac n cheese. They also have an extensive list of beverages, from smoothies and milkshakes to specialty coffees and then classic beverages. Being a huge eggs Benedict fan, you already know what I ordered – the Bene Joe “Full” Bacon – eggs Benedict with lots of bacon, sautéed potatoes and fresh fruits. Everything was delicious and I very much enjoyed my breakfast; everything was on point, no complaints! Alex got the ChocoGaufre: 2 eggs, bacon, half a waffle with bananas, strawberries and Nutella, and the sautéed potatoes. Another delicious brunch dish; more on the classic side but with a nice waffle for dessert! We also ordered some real maple syrup for the waffle, which made it perfect. Zoe got the Choco Choco: 2 eggs, bacon and 2 chocolate chip pancakes, with the mashed potatoes; it was a ginormous dish!! There was definitely enough food for two on that plate! I also got to taste the mashed potatoes, which were very good. In terms of beverages, Alex and I ordered a latte and Le Déculpabilisateur smoothie: pineapple, mango, spinach and honey (its usually made with yogurt too, but Alex is “lactose intolerant”). Both were very good, especially the smoothie. Just the thing to drink after a big night out!
We had a great time at L’Oeufrier DDO and I really enjoyed my dish. I’m usually a bit of a snob when it comes to brunching but L’Oeufrier DDO managed to change my opinion! I would go back any time 🙂
