My favorite dish: Cesar salad with grilled chicken
I had the pleasure of having lunch at Parma Café with my new friend and fellow foodie, Victor @randomcuisine ! Victor, who writes for Montreall.com (amongst a long list of other occupations) invited me as his +1 to take some photos and enjoy a good meal; how could I refuse?
We had the opportunity to sample three dishes: a salad, a pasta and a dessert. After an outdoor photoshoot (thankgod it wasn’t snowing) we brought the food back inside and took a seat at their beautiful marble counter.
The Cesar salad with grilled chicken was very good. Its not something that’s hard to make but surprisingly, its sub-par in many restaurants. The dressing was creamy and cheesy with bacon bits, there was some delicious crispy prosciutto and the chicken was very tender, juicy and well seasoned. I also liked the fresh lemon, which added a nice touch of acidity.
For the pasta, we were served the pasta of the day: Spaghetti with shrimps and clams. Overall, the dish was very good and I really enjoyed the sauce. It had a nice tomato and seafood taste. I did, however, find it unfortunate that the shrimps were so tiny. But, it tasted great and it was a well seasoned and balanced dish.
For dessert, we had a brownie with caramel sauce, which was very good. The brownie was moist, soft and solid at the same time, with a great chocolate taste. The caramel was also delicious.
I chose to accompany my meal with a latte which was very good too.
Overall I had a great meal at Parma Café, where everything tasted very good: the salad, the pasta, the brownie and the coffee. Parma Café is a great lunch spot located in the heart of downtown, perfect for a quick business lunch or for students. Thanks again for the invite Victor!
