Restaurant: Industria Pizzeria & Bar

After some holiday shopping last year at Les Galeries d’Anjou, Alex and I opted to have lunch at Industria Pizzeria & Bar, as Alex had been with friends before and said the pizzas looked really good. To begin, the space is very nice, with its industrial chic decor, exposed brick walls and hanging bicycles. For lunch time, they have a lunch special, with a selection of about half a dozen pizzas and pastas and a soup of the day or house salad as an entrée.
Alex opted for the soup of the day and an all-dressed pizza, which he very much enjoyed. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos. I opted for the house salad and a nduja pizza. The house salad was very good and I really liked the dressing as it was both sweet and vinegary at the same time. The salad was very simple, but tastefully prepared with fresh ingredients.
As for my nduja pizza, it was good, but there wasn’t enough nduja; there was barely any. I had had an nduja pizza once before at Ristorante Pomodoro, which was by far much better. Otherwise the pizza itself was very good, not too thin and not too thick, just the right size. I would however have preferred more cheese on my pizza and more melted golden cheese; I found there were too many empty spots with just sauce. One thing which I found really cool though was that the pizza is served with a huge pair of scissors, as you’re meant to cut it into pieces with them. I’ve never done that before with pizza, so I though that was pretty cool.
Overall, we had a good meal at Industria, but nothing exceptional. The pizzas were good, but they weren’t great. I have my own criteria when it comes to reviewing restaurants, which I also use on my Instagram account (@elisebgravel). It’s very simple, there are only three points: the quality of the food (on 10), the price (from $ to $$$$$) and the following question: would I go back?
So, here is my review of Industria Pizza:
Price: $$ (lunch), $$$ (dinner)
Would I go back?: Yes, but it wouldn’t be one of my top choices, as there are better pizzerias in Montreal
