Amelia’s Pizza Milton : American style pizzas and BYOW in the McGill Ghetto

Last Tuesday, I had the pleasure of eating at Amelia’s Pizza Milton, as one of their foodie guests. Amelia’s Pizza Milton is a byob (bring your own booze!) restaurant, ideally located on Milton and Sainte-Famille in the McGill Ghetto. They also have a counter for pick-ups and they take orders for deliveries.

Restaurant: Amelia’s Pizza Milton
Date: July 4th 2017
Table for: 2

One of my favorite white wines (2017)

We arrived promptly at 6:30pm for our reservation, to find the small byob restaurant full of clients; almost every single table was occupied by patrons savoring delicious pizza. As we were quite hungry, we got straight to it and ordered an entrée of cheesy garlic bread, a half Italian sausage and half mushrooms pizza and arrabbiata penne.

House salad (2017)

To start off, we were served a house salad, with fresh lettuce, shredded carrots and cabbage, topped with some parmesan cheese and a refreshing vinaigrette. Alex liked it so much he ate all of his plus half of mine (I was keeping room for the mains).

Cheesy garlic bread (2017)

The cheesy garlic bread came next, which was delicious and full of garlic butter and herbs. I would have preferred it though, if the cheese had been broiled just a bit more in the oven, just like it is on a pizza. But nonetheless, we devoured it all.

Next came the mains: the pizza and the pasta. The pizza was cooked and seasoned beautifully; the sauce and toppings were delicious and the cheese was melted to perfection. I really liked the Italian sausage pizza, which was actually the first time I’d ever had pizza with sausage on it (not sure why I had never done this before!).

Penne arrabbiata (2017)

As for the pasta, although it was good, I was a bit disappointed, as they had put olives in the sauce and I don’t like olives. However, I had Alex eat them all out and it was fine J We topped our pasta with lots of parmesan cheese (as always) and it was a satisfying bowl of carbs.

Tiramisu (2017)

For dessert, we opted for a slice of tiramisu (a traditional moist Italian coffee cake) which was amazing and a cappuccino.

Overall, the portions were very generous and left us feeling completely full and satisfied. I would definitely recommend Amelia’s Pizza Milton to anyone looking for an American-style pizzeria, in a fun and friendly setting. And on the plus side, this restaurant is byob 😉 You can never go wrong with byob!
