For those who don’t know, it is currently Oystermania, from April 20th until the 30th. With about 15 participating restaurants, you can buy a coupon for $10, which entitles you to a dozen oysters and a drink (how good of a deal is that??) So if you love oysters, now’s your chance to enjoy them for cheap!

Restaurant: être avec toi (êat) – Oystermania Part 1
Date: Saturday April 22nd 2017
Party of: 4
Last Saturday, Oystermania brought us to the W Hotel’s être avec toi (êat) restaurant, for part 1 of our oysterfest evening. Depending on the restaurant, you get to choose (from a selection) an alcoholic beverage. We each chose a glass of white wine (I went with the Pinot Grigio and my companions with the Chardonnay) and we got 48 Pink Moon oysters from Prince Edward Island.

The presentation was very wow; a huge platter full of oysters. However, the oysters were small and many of them had bits of shell in them. As well, they added this pink grapefruit jelly to half of the oysters, which we were not told about and didn’t like. It would have been preferable to put it on the side, along with the hot sauce, the mignonette and the lemon wedges.
Overall, it was still an amazing deal for the price (you basically get a free dozen of oysters with your drink). Looking forward to eating more at the next Oystermania!

I have my own criteria when it comes to reviewing restaurants, which I started using last year on my Instagram account (@elisebgravel). It’s very simple, there are only three points: the quality of the food (on 5), the price (from $ to $$$$) and the following question: would I go back? I could have included many more points (ambiance, service, etc.) but I wanted to keep things simple and easy. For me, the quality of the food, the price and the question “would I go back?” are the most important points for me.

So, here is my review of être avec toi (êat):
Food: 3.5/5 (oysters only)
Price: $ (Oystermania)
Would I go back?: For the next Oystermania, probably!
